June 26, 2007

The Arcadia Association of REALTORS® has been named "Business of the Year" by the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce. This award signifies appreciation from the Chamber to a business that has made significant contributions to the community and the Chamber and upholds high business standards for their members.

The Arcadia Association and the ArcadiaChamber of Commerce have been solid community partners, co-sponsoring important events such as candidates' forums for individuals running for city council or school board positions.  The AAR and Chamber together support worthy events like the recent American Cancer Society "Relay For Life" held at the Santa Anita Race Track.  Working together towards a positive business environment in the city of Arcadia, the AAR and the Chamber often collaborate on issues regarding business practices and local and state legislation.

Serving the communities within the greater San Gabriel Valley for 84 years, the 2,000 members of the Arcadia Association of REALTORS® have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to support a wide variety of local charitable needs.  The Arcadia Association, through the hard work of REALTOR® and affiliate volunteers, is a major supporter of such worthwhile organizations as the Ronald McDonald House Pasadena andthe Foothill Unity Center in Monrovia.  In 2003, the Arcadia Association was recognized with the "Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award" by the Foothill Unity Center.  Youth, senior, mentally and physically challenged groups - 501(C) (3) - are all included as past recipients of the fundraising efforts of the Arcadia Association of REALTORS®.

Assistance in education and the process of homeownership is another area of significant community support for the AAR.  Education includes instruction and one-on-one assistance, which involved communities co-sponsoring homeownership fairs with the Arcadia Association. "Rebuilding Together" is another very worthwhile endeavor that has been incorporated in the outreachactivities of the Association in the last few years.

Community support, contributions and community involvement deem the Arcadia Association of REALTORS® as the 2007 recipient of the "Business of the Year Award" from the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce.
